Salary: R 1,263,179.53 – R 1,698,060.41 TCTC
Minimum Qualifications:
• Degree in Civil / Mechanical / Electrical Engineering
• Formal management qualification
Preferred Qualification:
• Post graduate qualification in Civil / Mechanical / Electrical Engineering
Professional Registration:
• Professionally Registered with ECSA and (SACPCMP or PMP or PrPC)
Minimum Experience:
• Minimum 5 years senior management experience in the water sector (Projects, operations and maintenance, process engineering)
• Management experience in a project/water environment which includes water plant design/ upgrades or process control related to purification works
• Project Management experience with a proven track record in managing high level projects, project management skills (best project management practices) in terms of managing matrix structures, multi-disciplinary and multi projects.
• Experience in design and process engineering.
Key Outputs:
Reporting to the Executive Manager: Operations, the appointee will:
• Manage projects throughout all phases of the projects to ensure that specifications are met and to ensure that corrections can be made timeously
• Manage the approval process of the project charter and contract.
• Manage Feasibility studies to ensure high accuracy and transparency during the adjudication of the results
• Develop business plans for Secondary Business, covering water supply and wastewater treatment works and associated systems and equipment, to provide a reliable water supply, to improve the maintenance efficiency of the works and assets and to minimise the cost of production
• Develop business plans/proposals in support of divisional and corporate plans and clients’ objectives in conjunction with relevant Executive for Business Development
• Assist with corporate business plans in support sub-divisional, divisional and corporate plans and own sectional objectives.
• Oversee the upgrade of capacity and efficiency of water production infrastructure to maximise capital productivity, minimise operating costs and provide value for money to the end consumer
• Maintain communication with customers and set service levels agreements to maintain adequate service levels
• Develop Water Safety Plans in all the water supply systems to ensure reliable water supply, safe
drinking water and effluent management to meet blue/green drop status
• Manage business risk by ensuring that Amatola Water meets SANS 241 Water Treatment Standards
• Operate in compliance with statutory requirements to address 100% of Operational Risk
• Ensure general maintenance of the water services infrastructure by overseeing the Maintenance key performance areas
• Provide technical and engineering support to the organisation
• Oversee safety and health management to ensure that all operations meet the statutory
requirements to minimise accidents and incidents by overseeing the functions of the secondary business operations
• Manage the Financial Resources for Secondary Business
• Oversee Human Resources within Secondary Business
• Carry out reasonable and lawful instructions as given by the line manager/supervisor within the ambit of the position taking into consideration competencies and operational requirements
