Senior Accountant: AFS preparation and audit coordination

Salary: R 967,595.10 – R 1,298,138.86 TCTC

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • B. Com Honours with Accounting

 

Minimum Experience:

  • 5 years Financial Accounting experience in compilation of GRAP Annual Financial Statements
  • Proven knowledge of CASEWARE AFS package

 

Key Outputs:

Reporting to the CFO, the appointee will:

  • Project management of all service providers appointed for the preparation of Annual Financial Statements
  • Provide support to year end process and clearing of exception in Trial Balance
  • GL and TB management and analysis monthly and quarterly.
  • Advise and reconcile exceptions monthly and prepare required journals
  • Compile Mid-Year and Annual Financial Statements for Amatola Water through CaseWare
  • Review accounting policies for GRAP Compliance
  • Ensure compliance with Public Finance Management Act and Treasury Regulations
  • Identifying and implementing process improvements to enhance the accuracy, efficiency and effectiveness of financial reporting and analysis
  • Develop the Audit File for Amatola Water Annual Financial Statements
  • Co-ordinate all Auditor General Requests and submissions to the auditors
  • Ensure that all
  • Attend to all Communication of audit findings from Auditor General and ensure that responses are on time
  • Review all the responses to Communication of audit findings and advise finding owners if there are gaps
  • Develop and monitor Audit Implementation Plan and ensure that all identified issues are addressed
  • Carry out reasonable and lawful instructions as given by the line manager/supervisor within the ambit of the position taking into consideration competencies and operational requirements
  • Assist in the preparation of the Annual Report.
