Summary:
The Internal Audit Specialist is responsible for conducting independent and objective audits of the organisation’s financial, operational, and compliance activities. This role involves assessing the adequacy, effectiveness of internal controls, identifying areas of risk, and providing recommendations for improvement. The Internal Audit Specialist will also collaborate with various departments to ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and regulations.

Minimum Qualifications:
• Matric
• 3-year qualification in Internal Auditing

Preferred Qualification:
• Post graduate studies in Auditing
• CIA /CISA will be added advantage

Minimum Experience:
• 5 years’ experience in a related industry
• Strong technical knowledge and working experience of the auditing standards, professional code of ethics and relevant
governance codes with specialist technical experience with auditing systems and technology-based auditing methodologies.
• Financial acumen and experience with management and/or auditing of financial controls systems.
• Experience in Audit methodologies and Audit Software Applications

Key Outputs:
Reporting to the Manager Internal Audit, the appointee will:
• Assist in the preparation of the annual audit coverage plan for the Unit.
• Provide inputs for and review/update risk assessment documents.
• Support the departmental internal audit quality objectives with making recommendations to enhance and change departmental policies and procedures.
• Plan in conjunction with the manager the internal audits process of the individual projects.
• Conduct the internal audit in line with the audit plan.
• Evaluate the design and operating effectiveness of internal controls, identifying weaknesses and areas for improvement.
• Prepare, review and consolidate audit reports (for audits performed in all areas) to ensure that they are accurate and
correctly reporting the results of the audit.
• Initiate and conduct quality circle process.
• Assist with corporate business plans in support sub-divisional, divisional and corporate plans and own sectional objectives.
• Carry out reasonable and lawful instructions as given by the line manager/supervisor within the ambit of the position taking
into consideration competencies and operational requirements. Collaborate with various departments to promote a strong
control environment and provide advisory services.
• Participate in special projects and investigations as needed.
