Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, ESG, Sustainability or equivalent
Preferred Qualification:
- Honours Degree in Business Administration or Commerce
- Master (MBA) in Strategy Management or Business Administration/Management
Minimum Experience:
- Have experience in the ESG environment.
- Five (5 years’) leadership and management experience.
- Development of the Integrated Annual Report.
- Experience with sustainability consulting is required (including sustainability strategy, reporting and impact measurement)
- Understanding best governance practices, including King IV, integrated reporting, PFMA, and treasury regulations.
- Understands relevant water sector policies and trends.
- Strong knowledge of business principles and business acumen.
Key Outputs:
Reporting to the Chief Executive the appointee will:
- Work as part of and manage a multidisciplinary team across Amatola Water to assist departments in better understanding and developing solutions to respond to the complex and evolving policy, regulatory, and business environment risks and opportunities associated with Corporate Sustainability and ESG.
- Review /analyse corporate activities and provide recommendations related to enhancing their sustainability/ESG strategy, methods, framework, and related tools to support Amatola Water in achieving their sustainability/ ESG objectives.
- Manage the review and development of sustainability/ESG programs and related reporting, such as materiality assessments, peer benchmarking, stakeholder engagement, gap analysis, metric/KPI identification (in alignment with common sustainability/ESG reporting standards such as GRI), and the preparation of reporting (internal and external) materials.
- Manage engagement teams performing fieldwork, including project management, client management, review of analysis, work papers and reports and presentations.
- Manage AW relationships, business development efforts, and drafting thought leadership, as well as internal collateral and pieces of training on sustainability and ESG topics, working closely but independently under the direction of team leadership.
- Coordinate management of projects, ensuring quality and liaising with internal and external stakeholders and managing budgets.
- Coach junior team members to develop new skills, monitor their performance, support their development, and help manage their career growth.
- Proficiency in public speaking, including the ability to present at client workshops and lead client conversations.
- Experience in supporting a team in developing, growing, leading, and inspiring solid teams with a relationship-building management style.
- Ability to quickly learn concepts outside of your area of expertise.
- Develop and Manage Corporate Performance Information Management Frameworks and
- Reporting, including the coordination and development of AW Integrated Annual Report.
Other requirements needed:
- Computer literacy is a requirement
- Strong communication, presentation and negotiation skills
- Excellent report-writing skills
- Valid unendorsed driver’s licence
