Project based fixed term contract

Operations Division

Based at Mthatha and East London

Salary Package: R 290, 046.81- R 341, 647.86 per annum

 

       Minimum Qualifications:

  • Grade 12 with Maths and Science
  • N2 qualification in Mechanical / Civil Engineering

      Preferred Qualification:

  • N3 qualification in Mechanical / Civil Engineering

      Minimum Experience:

  • 2-3 years’ experience in a technical field
  • General operation and maintenance of Mechanical equipment

       Key Outputs:

       Reporting to the Artisan Mechanical/Electrical/Millwright, the appointee will:

  • Perform routine and breakdown maintenance on various mechanical equipment, plant or buildings
  • Ensure that relevant defects and work requests are attended to promptly to minimise outage time
  • Perform a preventative maintenance function
  • Ensure all mechanical plant and equipment is in a safe condition before commencing any work on them.
  • Report accidents/defects
  • Assist with maintaining a good all round safety programme and good housekeeping

      Other requirements needed:

  • Basic knowledge of safety regulations
  • Valid unendorsed Driver’s license
  • Knowledge and ability to repair all maintained machinery
  • Ability to disassemble all maintained machinery
  • Ability to fit all maintained machinery
  • Ability to install all maintained machinery
  • Ability to reassemble all maintained machinery
  • Ability to strip all maintained machinery
  • Knowledge and ability to work with hand tools
  • Work overtime as requested
