Executive Manager: Finance (CFO)

Salary: R 1 403 913 – R 1 899 412
 
Minimum Qualifications:
•   Postgraduate commercial degree
•   CA(SA) accredited and 5 years’ experience as CFO
 
Minimum Experience:
•   Minimum of 10 years management experience, 5 years of which should be at a Senior Management
     level, as a CFO
•   Minimum 5 years working application of Public Finance Management Act (PFMA)
•   Comprehensive business experience in a finance environment.
 
Preferable Experience:
•   Water sector experience will be advantageous
 
Duties:
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the appointee will, as part of the executive team, assist the Board of Amatola Water to oversee the Finance and Supply Chain Management functions of the organization; to ensure adherence to sound corporate governance including statutory requirements and fulfil all the functions of the Chief Financial Officer as per the Public Management Finance Act No. 1 of 1999, as amended by No. 29 of 1999 and Treasury Regulation 23.
 
Position:
Key Performance Areas will include, but will not be limited to, the oversight and control of the following:
•   Strategic input on financial information for business purposes
•   Executive management responsibilities
•   Financial Management, Financial Reporting and Control
•   Supply Chain Management / Procurement
•   Review Internal Controls of Systems and Adherence
•   Debtors and Creditors management
•   Keep abreast with developments related to accounting standards and corporate governance
•   Budgeting Process and Control
•   Treasury Function
•   Departmental Management
•   Statutory compliance
•   Risk Management
•   Policy development
•   Champion internal and external audits
 
Other requirements:
•   Extensive breadth of financial knowledge
•   Knowledge of relevant legislation
•   Ability to manage increasing amounts of risk
•   Analytical competence and ability to manage large sets of data for business decision making
•   Ability to understand the business drivers including the non-financial drivers influencing financial success
•   Ability to adapt to new technology including being computer literate
•   Ability to lead and manage people
•   Communication skills
•   Corporate governance
•   Valid unendorsed driver’s license
