Amatola Water Champions Clean Water Access in Qunu: New Reservoir Revitalizes Community's Water Supply 

Deputy Minister David Mahlobo welcomed Deputy President Paul Mashatile at Qunu Village, Eastern Cape, to witness the resuscitation of the Qunu Noyiya water scheme. The event embraced by  the participation of Dr. G. Sharpley, Chairperson of the Amatola Water Board, along with a delegation from the board.

The Deputy President is on a working visit to the King Sabata Dalindyebo Local Municipality to address pressing service delivery challenges affecting the Qunu community. The visit aimed to assess local issues, provide updates on water supply, and ensure that the newly constructed reservoir, built by Amatola Water, serves its intended purpose of delivering clean water to households in the area.

Amatola Water plays a crucial role as a bulk water services provider in the province, and its involvement underscores the government's commitment to improving water service delivery. Following the visit, Deputy President Mashatile and Deputy Minister Mahlobo engaged with the community to discuss the current state of water services and explore collaborative solutions for improving water supply. 

This initiative is part of the government's ongoing effort to enhance access to reliable water services, address existing backlogs, and ensure sustainable service delivery within Qunu, highlighting the essential role of Amatola Water in achieving these goals.
